Delegation from Taizhou University Visits France to Deepen Cooperation in Higher Education and Health Sciences

Deepening China-France Cooperation: Jointly Promoting Exchanges in Medicine and Health

At the joint invitation and coordination of the International Academy of Food and Phytomedicine (IAFPH) and the Association de Développement de l'Amitié Franco-Chinoise (ADAFC), a delegation from Taizhou University (Jiangsu, China) recently visited Paris, France. Led by the Secretary of the University Party Committee, the delegation—which included heads of the President’s Office and the International Cooperation and Exchange Department—engaged in talks and inspections regarding Sino-French higher education cooperation and exchanges in medical and health disciplines. The visit aimed to further transition the partnership from "mutual exchange" to "practical implementation."

The members of the visiting delegation included: Xu Xiangming, Secretary of the Party Committee of Taizhou University; Jiang Fengsuo, Director of the President’s Office; Shi Lili, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department; Yang Zhihong, Dean of the School of Information Engineering; Wang Jian, Director of the Social Cooperation Department.

Visiting the Faculty of Pharmacy, Université Paris Cité: Deepening Pharmaceutical Exchanges

Accompanied by Professor Sylvie MICHEL of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Université Paris Cité, the delegation visited the Faculty’s Museum, the Dean’s Office, and the historic campus. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as pharmaceutical talent cultivation, curriculum system development, and practical teaching models, reaching an initial consensus on future cooperation.

Taizhou University Strengthens Internationalization and Expands Overseas Partnerships

In recent years, Taizhou University has consistently strengthened its international presence and deepened its cooperation mechanisms with overseas universities. Since its first visit to France last year, the university has maintained close contact with several French institutions. This return visit aims to transition the partnership from "mutual exchange" to "project implementation," providing stronger international momentum for the university’s discipline development.

IAFPH Bridges and Empowers Multilateral Cooperation

As the primary facilitator of this visit, the International Academy of Food and Phytomedicine (IAFPH) managed all communication and coordination to ensure a successful itinerary. The Academy has long been dedicated to international cooperation in global medicinal plant research, maintaining extensive networks with universities, research institutes, and medical organizations to promote the active role of traditional medicinal plants in global health.

Future Outlook: Transitioning from Exchanges to Concrete Projects

Moving forward, the cooperation between the Academy and Taizhou University will focus on three areas: first, collaborative education and training, promoting joint curriculum development and talent cultivation in medicine and health; second, strengthening academic exchanges, including faculty/student visits and sharing research achievements; and third, expanding industrial cooperation to explore industry-university-research innovation in fields such as "Medicine and Food Homology."

Starting from this visit, all parties will advance projects such as short-term student programs, faculty exchanges, and scientific research collaboration. Efforts will also be made to explore models like credit recognition and dual-degree programs, deepening win-win cooperation between China and France in higher education and the medical and health sectors.
