Scope of Activities

I. Cooperation Platform and Scope of Partners

IAFPH conducts its international cooperation through the Joint Research Unit (JRU) system as its core organizational platform. The JRU framework is open to universities, research institutions and research teams with a solid scientific foundation and a constructive attitude toward international collaboration.

Potential partners include, but are not limited to, universities and research institutions engaged in agricultural sciences, biological sciences, plant sciences, pharmacy, nutrition and public health, animal health, ecology and environmental sciences, and other related fields.

II. Criteria for Partner Selection

In selecting cooperation partners, IAFPH does not regard institutional size, international ranking or the number of previous international projects as the sole criteria. Greater emphasis is placed on the partner’s academic representativeness within its country or region, research capacity, disciplinary strengths, and willingness to develop long-term cooperation.

Institutions or research teams whose research directions can be naturally connected with relevant issues under the framework of One Planet, One Health may be considered eligible to enter the JRU cooperation system.

III. Cooperation Content and Principles under the JRU System

Through the JRU system, partner universities or research teams may participate as core partners or participating units of a country-level JRU, and engage in joint research projects, academic exchanges, talent development, and related support and incentive mechanisms.

IAFPH respects the academic autonomy and existing cooperation networks of all partners. It does not require partner institutions to change their current research priorities or established collaborative relationships. Instead, the JRU framework aims to promote cross-institutional and interdisciplinary collaboration, and to gradually build stable, trust-based and long-term academic partnerships.
