Junhong Yang

Dr. Junhong Yang is an internationally recognized expert in integrative Chinese and Western neuropsychiatry, a clinical scientist, and a scholar of medical cultural diplomacy. She currently serves as Academic Leader of the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Psychology at The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine. As a professional leader deeply engaged in frontline clinical practice and cross-cultural higher education, she also serves as the principal lecturer for the courses Chinese Medicine Culture and Sino-French Cultural Exchange at Henan University of Chinese Medicine. In the fields of social service and public policy, she has demonstrated outstanding leadership in political consultation and professional governance. She currently serves as Chair of the 15th Provincial Direct Branch of the Henan Provincial Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party, and Director of the Medicine and Health Committee of the Henan Provincial Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party. She has long been committed to integrating advanced clinical medicine with a profound humanistic foundation, and was honored as a National “Outstanding Expert Supporting Xinjiang” for her distinguished contributions to medical assistance. As an important bridge for Sino-French medical and cultural exchange, she previously served as a visiting scholar at Assistance Publique–Hôpitaux de Marseille, a leading medical center in France, actively promoting international clinical and research collaboration between China and Europe in psychosomatic medicine and neuroscience.
 
As a frontier scholar exploring the complex interactions among the human nervous system, immune mechanisms, and psychological behavior, Dr. Yang’s research and clinical practice focus on integrative Chinese and Western neuropsychiatry, Chinese medicine immunology, including autoimmune diseases such as myasthenia gravis, post-stroke psychological and emotional disorders, sleep medicine, and the preventive medical application of medicated diet and moxibustion. With deep clinical expertise and an interdisciplinary perspective, she holds several key positions in academic community building. She serves as a Standing Committee Member of the Psychosomatic Medicine Branch of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, a Standing Committee Member of the Community Chinese Medicine Committee of the China Community Health Association, a Council Member of the China Association of Medicinal Diet, a Committee Member of the Moxibustion Health Promotion Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, and a Committee Member of the Sleep Medicine Branch of the Chinese Stroke Association. By deeply reconstructing modern neuroimmunology, polysomnography technology, and traditional Chinese medicine theories of meridians and medicated diet, she has provided integrative medical approaches of strong clinical translational value for the precise intervention of highly prevalent modern neuropsychiatric diseases.
 
In regional medical innovation and the development of specialty disciplines, Dr. Yang also plays a pivotal leadership role. She has demonstrated strong professional influence within provincial medical academic organizations, currently serving as Chair of the Chinese Medicine Immunology Branch of the Henan Immunology Society, Vice Chair of the Myasthenia Gravis Professional Committee, and Vice Chair of the Post-Stroke Psychological and Emotional Disorders Professional Committee of the Henan Stroke Society. With decades of dedication to clinical practice and teaching, she has successfully moved beyond the single paradigm of conventional biomedicine and systematically introduced the integrative medical concept of “treating the body and mind together” into regional prevention and treatment networks for neurological, psychological, and immune-related diseases. Her research achievements and cross-cultural teaching paradigms have gained broad academic recognition and professional influence both in China and abroad.
