——Henan Agricultural University Leads in Research as China’s Full-Chain Agricultural Solutions Debut on the International Stage
From 23 to 25 February 2026, the SIA'PRO Agricultural Solutions Exhibition marked a major milestone: for the first time, Chinese research institutions and agricultural enterprises made a high-profile collective appearance on the international stage. With Henan Agricultural University providing scientific leadership and technical support throughout, and in partnership with multiple leading enterprises, the Chinese side presented full-chain agricultural solutions covering circular agriculture, livestock health, agricultural machinery, labour protection, and intelligent assistive devices.
During the exhibition, Ms. Guo Xiaolin, Minister Counselor for Science and Technology at the Chinese Embassy in France, visited the SIA Pro exhibition area and offered guidance. She was accompanied by Mr. Chen Guosheng, Agricultural Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in France, and Ms. Li Qiaoqiao, First Secretary of the Embassy’s Office of Science and Technology. They were also accompanied by French guests including Ms. Léonor Hugot of FranceAgriMer’s European and International Affairs Mission, Ms. Élisabeth Descamps, Export Officer for Animal Products at FranceAgriMer’s Exporter Support Unit, and Ms. Céline Gstalder, Event Director of SIA’PRO. The Chinese and international guests visited the booths of the Chinese delegation one by one, listening in detail to presentations on technological achievements and product applications. They spoke highly of the innovativeness, practicality, and international readiness of Chinese agricultural science and technology, noting that these Chinese solutions are well aligned with global needs for green agricultural transformation, efficient production, animal welfare, and occupational health, and will inject fresh momentum into agricultural cooperation between China and France as well as the wider world.
As the scientific core and overall technical support for the delegation’s overseas showcase, Henan Agricultural University presented major national-level research achievements, with a focus on an intergovernmental key project under the National Key Research and Development Program during China’s 14th Five-Year Plan period: Processes and Control Mechanisms of Nitrogen Non-point Source Pollution in Intensive Agricultural Areas of Northern China. As one of the university’s key research teams at the exhibition, the black soldier fly project team, led academically by Professor Yang Sen, attended the exhibition on behalf of the university’s research community. Focusing on the control of agricultural non-point source pollution, the resource utilization of livestock and poultry manure, and key technologies for eco-circular agriculture, the team provided enterprises with systematic scientific support spanning source reduction, process control, and end-of-pipe resource recovery, thereby connecting the full chain from scientific research and technological innovation to technology transfer, industrial application, and international promotion.

The project has innovatively established a dual-driver “insect–fungus interaction” system that converts animal manure into insect protein and organic insect frass fertilizer, thereby reducing the environmental pressure of agricultural waste, providing high-quality feed resources, and ultimately supporting the green manufacturing of the traditional Chinese medicine industry through a closed-loop ecosystem spanning the entire industrial chain.

Staff at the exhibition booth introduced black soldier fly products and jiuzhi huangjing prepared by the Department of Medicinal Plant Cultivation of Henan Agricultural University to Mr. François Blanc, Adviser on European and Foreign Affairs to the French Minister of Agriculture.
