(News Center - Reported by Liu Yang, Deng Ran; Photos by Li Peiya) On April 29, a delegation led by Yoboué Véronique, President of the Université Nangui Abrogoua (Côte d'Ivoire), Yalacé Yamba Kaboret, Director of the Inter-State School of Veterinary Sciences and Medicine (EISMV) of Dakar (Senegal), and Jean-Yves Moisseron, President of the International Academy of Food and Phytomedicine (IAFPH), visited the university for exchange and cooperation.

Zhou Wei, President of Henan Agricultural University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Vice President Zhang Xiao attended the symposium. The meeting was also attended by heads of the President’s Office, the Science and Technology Department, the Social Service Office, the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and the College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as faculty representatives from the College of Agronomy, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the School of Foreign Languages. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Zhang Xiao.

Address by President Zhou Wei, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering

Zhou Wei extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided a brief overview of the university’s history, disciplinary development, research platforms, talent cultivation, and achievements in international education. He pointed out that the university consistently adheres to an open-door policy, actively serving the "Belt and Road" Initiative and supporting global agricultural education innovation and sustainable development through open cooperation.

He expressed the university’s commitment to using Sino-French cooperation as a link, integrating corporate resources to build a China-France-Africa cooperation platform with universities from Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, and France. This platform will focus on areas such as the research and development of agricultural, forestry, and livestock products, exchange and training of scientific personnel, construction of joint laboratories, and intergovernmental scientific and technological cooperation. Through these efforts, the university aims to contribute Chinese solutions to agricultural development, animal health, and food security in Africa.

The visiting guests introduced their respective institutions and put forward pragmatic and concrete cooperation visions in fields such as agricultural education, veterinary science, medicinal plant research, and international industry-university-research collaboration. A representative from Ruiqi (Suzhou) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a partner enterprise of the university, introduced the company's strengths and potential directions for cooperation. All participating parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as university-university cooperation, university-enterprise cooperation, scientific research synergy, joint cultivation, and the transformation of achievements, reaching a broad consensus on cooperation.

This visit has further expanded the university’s cooperation channels with universities and research institutions in France and Africa, enriched the substance of collaboration, and injected new momentum into the university’s active service to the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the creation of a multilateral cooperation platform in the agricultural field.
