Discover Chinese food culture, traditional wellness practices and healthy living
Following the 61st and 62nd Paris International Agricultural Shows, Chinese food culture, food-as-medicine practices and traditional Chinese wellness concepts received growing attention from French audiences. With the participation and support of Taizhou-related authorities, Henan University of Chinese Medicine, The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine and partner institutions, the exhibitions offered an important opportunity for French visitors to discover Chinese approaches to healthy eating and daily wellbeing.
In response to this interest, the Food as Medicine & Healthy Diet Study Tour in China will be organized in July 2026. The programme is designed as a small-group study tour for French and European participants interested in Chinese food culture, traditional wellness practices, medicinal plants, healthy diets and East Asian approaches to daily wellbeing.
The tour will combine cultural visits, hands-on culinary sessions and guided wellness experiences. Participants will learn about Food as Medicine Dishes: Experience and Preparation, visit relevant universities, hospitals, food companies and wellness institutions, experience traditional Chinese wellness practices such as tuina, moxibustion, bone-setting experience, meditation and Baduanjin, and explore local food culture and historical sites in China.
The programme is supported by academic, medical, culinary and cultural exchange resources from China and France. A leading Chinese master chef and his team will guide the hands-on food-as-medicine cooking sessions, while experts in Chinese medicinal cuisine and traditional wellness culture will contribute to the programme design and learning experience.
