Professor Yalacé Yamba KABORET currently serves as the Director General (Le Directeur Général) of the Inter-State School of Veterinary Sciences and Medicine (E.I.S.M.V) in Dakar. As a leading figure in the synergistic development of African higher education and the regional veterinary industry, he was awarded the tenure of Full Professor (Professeur Titulaire) in 2004. Since initiating his academic career in 1987, he has successively served as Head of Teaching Services, Head of the Communications Department, and International Cooperation Coordinator. With his outstanding cross-cultural collaborative capabilities and strategic vision, he has long dedicated himself to the modernization of tropical animal husbandry, veterinary pathology, and regional public health systems in Africa.
As an internationally authoritative scholar in the fields of veterinary pathology and animal immunology, Professor KABORET possesses a profound global academic background. He obtained his Specialized Advanced Degree in Veterinary Pathological Anatomy (DESV) and the Advanced Certificate in Animal and Comparative Immunology (CES) from the National Veterinary School of Alfort (EnvA) in France in 1991. He subsequently pursued advanced studies at top global institutions, including the National Veterinary School of Toulouse in France, the Plum Island Animal Disease Center in the United States, and the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, further broadening his research areas to ruminant pathology, transboundary animal diseases, and avian pathology. His core research focuses on the interaction mechanisms between animal health and the environment in productive animal husbandry, and he has published over a hundred high-level scientific papers and academic reports in peer-reviewed journals and international academic conferences.
In the fields of regional management and international organizational governance, Professor KABORET has demonstrated exceptional strategic leadership. He was first elected Director General of E.I.S.M.V in December 2015 and was re-elected with a high majority vote by the Council of Ministers of Higher Education of the member states in 2020. Guided by his innovative spirit, he personally initiated and advanced the "EISMV 2025 Strategic Plan," successfully transforming the institution into a pan-African competitive center of excellence integrating teaching, cutting-edge research, and international expert collaboration. Furthermore, Professor KABORET is the promoter and inaugural President of the Association of African Veterinary Educational Establishments (2A2E-V), playing a pivotal role in the historic process of successfully anchoring and integrating the association into the African Union.
